Luxury self-contained Cottages in the Heart of Northern Tasmania:
Elm Wood Cottages, self-rated at 4½ star, are situated just 30 minutes west of the Launceston airport and 40 minutes south east of the Devonport ferry terminal. Based in the very English village of Westbury, these cottages are on 1½ secluded acres of parkland gardens that lie between the Village Green and the Town Common.
These cottages have been recently built in the Victorian Gothic style with great attention to detail. The polished jarrah wooden floors, high ceilings finished with cornice and roses, picture rails, dado rails and tasteful furnishings all contribute to the feeling of graceful luxury from bygone times. The slow combustion log fire and fine lounge chairs complete the ambience.
Elm Wood Cottages provide the perfect base from which to explore the north of this remarkable Island State. Our guests take day trips to the Great Western Tiers, Tamar Valley and its wineries, the North West Coastal towns of Wynyard and Stanley, Cradle Mountain National Park, Narawntapu National Park and the North East to visit Bridestowe Lavender farm and the Bay of Fires. "Linden
Cottage" at Elm Wood Cottages is a snug little bed-sitter for couples,
tucked in beneath a giant old European lime tree.
Offering everything a couple could need for a night or three, the cottage
features a King-sized bed, well lit bathroom with shower/sit-bath, TV and DVD player.
The large cane chairs and wood fire provide a romantic atmosphere, especially
on cooler nights. On warmer nights and sunny mornings, guests enjoy relaxing on the
ample verandah.
The kitchenette is well equipped, complete with electric oven, hot plates, full
sink and a fridge.

Holly Cottage – Luxury small group Accommodation
"Holly Cottage" at Elm Wood Cottages is a large open plan cottage with Queen bed and a separate attic bedroom with King bed.
If you plan on self-catering, this cottage provides a full kitchen with large fridge.
The permanent beds are a King and a Queen, but two additional roll-a-beds can be brought in for a family or group of up to 6 guests.
The
wide and extensive verandah makes this also a delight on summer evenings, where a
fine wine can be appreciated while enjoying the trees and gardens from the comfort
of a cane chair.
In winter, the slow-combustion log heater provides a natural warmth that fills this
